On Dec 29th, 2020, Saigon Silicon City JSC (SSC) held a groundbreaking ceremony for "Center for management and operation No.2 - Center 2" of The Construction and Development Saigon Silicon City project at D1 Street, High-Tech Park – SHTP, Long Thanh My Ward, District 9, HCMC. The ceremony was held solemnly with the participation of representatives of the Owner - SSC, the site supervision and project management Consultant - Sagen, general contractor for construction - Joint venture SAE & ALQ and important partners of the project.

Being cherished and researched for more than 10 years, overcoming many difficulties caused by the financial and economic crisis, in 2015, San Francisco and the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City agreed on the policy of building the SaiGon Silicon City project. The project is considered as a "bridge connecting the technology banks" between Vietnamese and the United States, with the goal of becoming a Science and Technology Center based on the Silicon Valley model (San Francisco), ready about infrastructure, utilities, and complete support services to attract overseas enterprises come VietNam to invest in research and production of high-tech products under Vietnamese brand names.

Perspective of Saigon Silicon City project

The Saigon Silicon City project is divided into 33 zones corresponding to 33 construction works with a total area of over 52 hectares, including 4 management center buildings, 24 construction zones for high-tech manufacturing factory for rent, general service center building, import-export warehouse, clubhouse and sports center building area, exhibition area, and other ancillary items and utilities. The project has a total estimated investment capital of about 860 billion VND (equivalent to 40 million USD).

"Center for management and operation No.2 - Center 2" is one of the four management center buildings of the project, has 6 floors with a total floor area of nearly 53,000 m2. The construction of Center 2 contributes to completing the project and accelerating the operation & investment attraction process.

As planned, SSC will quickly start construction of the remaining items in phase 1 of the project in March 2021 and is expected to inaugurate phase 1 by the end of 2021 (including 4 central buildings, import-export warehouse - General service, Square and Clubhouse).

In June 2020, after the evaluation and selection of contractors, with the important and scale of the project, SSC trusted and selected Sagen as a design consultant and carry out legal procedures to apply for construction permits for Import-export warehouse, General Service House, Center 3, Clubhouse and Central Square.

At the same time, Sagen was also selected as the project management and supervision consultant for the Center 4.

With its experience, a team of professional, dedicated and reputable personnel in the industry, Sagen is implementing the design of the project's items and supervising the construction of Center 4 on schedule, ensuring the aesthetics, safety and convenience during production operations, fully meeting Vietnamese and international standards.

In addition, with its enthusiasm and expertise, Sagen has discovered and supported SSC to correct and solve problems detected in the process of checking design documents and supervising construction of Center 4. At the Groundbreaking Ceremony of Center 2, SSC especially thanked and rewarded Sagen for being a partner with many contributions to the construction and development of the project. The investor also decides to choose Sagen as long-term partner for the design, supervision and management of the remaining project items.
